How to install mERP Warehouse on Zebra Scanners

merp zebra

Open a built-in browser on your device and select the address field. Click on the hardware button to scan the QR code below or manually enter the following APK URL http://bit.ly/merpwh-1499 (type into the browser’s address field).

Once the download is completed, please install the APK (by tapping on the download notification). Allow the installation by agreeing with all steps. If a new version is available, the app will notify you. Update the app in this case.

mERP Warehouse has a 7-day trial with full features. No need to enter the activation code, it will be activated automatically when the app starts. After 7 days, you will need to enter a license key.

EMDK (Enterprise Mobility Development Kit) is an API library provided by Zebra (Motorola). This API allows the app to use the device’s scanner.

First of all, you need to check if mERP Warehouse is compatible with your Zebra device.

Check out the full list of devices supported by mERP Warehouse

Run the application, log in to your server or run the demo, and click on the three dots at the upper right-hand corner > About.

Check a status of barcode drivers. There are 2 statuses available:

  • Zebra EMDK isn’t available
  • Zebra EMDK is available

If the status of the barcode scanner drivers is available, congrats! You don’t do anything more. The scanner is ready to use.

If the status is isn’t available, mERP Warehouse will use the default camera to scan and recognize a barcode. Generally, this status is shown on Android mobile phones. If you see this status on your Zebra device, you probably need to install the update.

Note, if mERP Warehouse shows the status Available, but your device continues to use the built-in camera instead of the hardware laser scanner, please install the update.

Please check the spreadsheet below to select and download related updates for your device. Check the device’s Android version in the first column and download the related EMDK update from the second column.
For example:
MC32 > Android 4.1 > EMDK 5.0
MC32 > Android 5.0 > EMDK 6.6
TC51 > Android 7.0 > EMDK 6.6
Check the full list of supported devices here.

Android version EMDK version
4.1 – 4.3
Jelly Bean
4.4 – 7.0
KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow, Nougat

This spreadsheet was created based on data from the official Zebra web-site

You can also scan a QR-code to download related EMDK updates (select the address field on your device’s browser first)

After installation of the update, please reboot your device. If everything is OK, mERP Warehouse will show the status as Available.

Now the app will use the hardware barcode scanner for scanning. Please drop us a mail via the feedback form in mERP Warehouse app if it doesn’t work for you.
Note, these EMDK updates provided by Zebra were tested on MC32, MC40, TC51, TC55 devices only. We cannot guarantee that these updates will not corrupt the OS.

      Hello Jason,

unfortunately, mERP Warehouse works with Android devices only.
We can help to integrate your devices or help to choose new equipment that support mERP Warehouse.
Seems like it will be cheaper.

Please feel free to contact us – hello@merpapp.com

Can you select other devices for bar code scan ?

1000 USD is way to much. It’s even totally out of proportions considerng the price of your app.

You should be able to propose a simple smartphone, Android, with a built-in bar code scanner, for a few hundred USD/Euros, don’t you think ?

It would reinforce your commercial proposal.

      Hello Christophe,

now we support professional scanners such as MC3200 and MC40 only (we are official Zebra partner).
We already have thought about it, but, unfortunately, didn’t found a good device.
If you can suggest a good android based device, we can test it.

Feel free to answer here or via email: hello@merpapp.com
      Thank you.

      Hello Eduardo,

looks like this device can Run “mERP” or “mERP Warehouse”.
However, we cannot guarantee the proper work of the scanner.

Integration with a new device can take 25-40 hours. We provide this services on demand (discount up to 30%)
Also to integrate any device our developers should have this device as well.

Now mERP Warehouse supports Motorola MC32XX (big and medium warehouses) and MC40 (small warehouses and retail shop + warehouse).
For very small customers with 1-2 small rooms, customers can use mERP Warehouse on any android phone/tablet (version 4.0.3 +).

Please contact us through email – hello@xpansa.com
We will discuss all options and pricing.

      Hello Fazal,
mERP Warehouse supports operations in Warehouse / Inventory module only.
But we can customize the app if you need. Please drop us a mail. We will estimate it for you.

      Thank you.
